"Farm 2 School" activity in health class

Grade 6,7,8 students visited the orchard and garden behind the high school as part of a "Farm 2 School" activity in health class.  Mrs. Poliquin, Food Service Director, and Mrs. Knight, Health Teacher, explained the importance of eating fresh, local foods as part of a healthy lifestyle.

Students had the opportunity to identify and taste fresh fruits and veggies that are ripe in the orchard and garden.

Students will continue to learn about the nutritional value and cooking skills related to using local fruits and vegetables in health class.

Wellness Day May 9, 2012

Wellness Day is an opportunity for students and staff to take the time to explore various activities that keep us well in mind, body and spirit.  Some activities are quiet and reflective, some are active and physical and some are social and easy.  We hope students embrace the opportunity to learn something new, enjoy something they may not get the chance to do often, and encourage them to incorporate wellness into their lives.
